General Warranty Terms and Conditions for LED Modules

Universal Science S.R.L. guarantees the high quality and sound construction of the products supplied and undertakes, during the warranty period specified below, to repair or replace free of charge any parts that prove to be defective due to poor material quality or manufacturing defects, provided that such defects are not attributable to natural aging (physiological decline in LED brightness or color shift), failures caused by misuse, improper installation and/or storage, overloading, tampering, or unauthorized modifications.

Unless otherwise specified, the warranty period is 3 years from the date of delivery, subject to any extensions (expressly communicated and agreed upon with the customer) up to 5 or 7 years depending on the LED used*), and expires at the end of the term even if the products have not been installed for any reason. This time period includes a 3% “natural” failure rate over the course of the warranty period. Beyond this rate, the standard warranty terms will apply.

In the event of defects, quality issues, or nonconformity of the products, the company will repair or replace them. It is understood that this excludes any other liability on the part of the seller (e.g., compensation for damages due to plant downtime, loss of profits, etc.).

Any complaints regarding the condition of the packaging must be reported to the seller upon receipt of the goods (which must be “accepted with reservation” from the carrier).
Any complaints regarding the quantity or external characteristics of the products (apparent defects) must be reported to the seller, under penalty of forfeiture, within 8 days of the date of receipt of the products.
Any complaints regarding defects that cannot be detected through a diligent inspection upon receipt (hidden defects) must be reported to the seller, under penalty of forfeiture, no later than 30 days from the discovery of the defect and, in any case, no later than the expiration of the warranty period, which is understood to be 3 years from the date of manufacture and sale of the product.
Non-conforming products must be returned upon written authorization from Universal Science S.R.L., which will issue an RMA (Return Material Authorization) number. The product must be returned freight prepaid, and once repaired, it will be shipped back at the expense of Universal Science S.R.L.

Please note that when replacing LED modules, due to advancements in component technology, the new module may differ from the originally supplied version in terms of photometric characteristics and efficiency.
In the event of a confirmed defect and the impossibility of repair or replacement, Universal Science S.R.L. will issue a formal credit memo. It is understood that any complaints or disputes do not entitle the buyer to suspend or delay payment for the products in question, nor, much less, for other shipments.

In compliance with applicable regulations, the company reserves the right to make changes to its products without prior notice, whether to improve them or as a result of the natural evolution of their technical specifications.
“The Parties declare that they are acting as professionals and within the scope of their business or professional activities. Consequently, the Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005), including the right of withdrawal provided therein, does not apply to this contract.”
It is understood that the provisions of this warranty do not limit or replace the mandatory provisions of the law applicable to commercial relationships between professionals (B2B), which remain fully valid.

*Additional information regarding LEDs: If the LED modules are equipped with mid-power components with a power per chip of less than one watt, a maximum current of 150 mA, and Tp = 60°C (such as 2835 or 3030), the following parameters apply to the 5-year warranty: L80B10, which indicates that at least 90% of the LEDs will have a residual luminous flux equal to or greater than 80% of the initial value; at most, 10% of the LEDs may exhibit a decline below this threshold.
If the LED modules are equipped with power components (e.g., 3535 ceramic LEDs), the lifespan is defined at a maximum current of 700 mA and Tp = 85°C (such as 3535), and the following parameters are established and linked to the 7-year warranty, L80B10.
